Each Sertel AWS station is built to function unattended in the field for years. A fully programmable datalogger continuously samples every connected sensor, timestamps each reading with GPS or NTP synchronization, and sends the data via GSM, GPRS, or 4G at intervals chosen by the client. A solar panel coupled with a sealed battery supplies power during low-light periods, and a 3.5" or 5" touchscreen display lets field engineers see live readings and modify settings without a laptop.
Since the sensor suite is modular, each AWS deployment can be tailored. For instance, a hydrology station may contain rainfall, soil moisture, and barometric pressure sensors, whereas an agriculture site might add leaf wetness and solar radiation sensors for crop-disease modelling. Sensor selection, transmission intervals, communication protocols, and output data formats are all set to the client's requirements prior to shipping the station. The datalogger, sensors, solar supply, and telemetry hardware all come standardly protected against lightning and overvoltage.
