Flow Meter

T-WMFM-300 is a wall mounted clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter manufactured by Sertel Electronics. It determines liquid flow by applying the transit-time principle, using transducers that are attached to the exterior of the pipe. It provides plus or minus 1% accuracy, supports pipe diameters ranging from DN15 to DN6000, and can also carry out heat and energy measurement when a Pt100 temperature transducer is linked.

No. The clamp-on transducers are attached to the outside of the pipe wall, eliminating the need to cut the water supply, empty the pipe, or halt the process while installing. There is also no pressure drop caused by the measurement, making it appropriate for continuous monitoring of pressurised systems.

The system works with ultra-pure liquids, potable water, industrial chemicals, raw sewage, reclaimed water, cooling water, river water and plant effluent. Compatible pipe materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, copper, cement, PVC, aluminium and glass-reinforced plastic, and lined pipes are permitted.

Connect an optional Pt100 temperature transducer to the converter. Clamp-on, insertion, pressurised insertion and small-pipe variants are available, all covering minus 40 to plus 160 degrees C above DN50 with an accuracy of 100 degrees C plus or minus 0.8 degrees C. The converter then reports thermal energy alongside volumetric flow.

Flow meter offers an isolated RS-485 serial interface that supports the Modbus protocol, an optional 4 to 20 mA current output with 0.1% accuracy, one OCT pulse output with a 6 to 1000 ms pulse width, and one relay output. Three 4 to 20 mA input channels are also provided for temperature, pressure and liquid level signals.

The host unit has an IP67 rating and works from minus 20 to plus 60 degrees C at 85% RH or lower. The flow sensor carries an IP68 rating, operates from minus 30 to plus 160 degrees C and can be submerged to a water depth of 2 m or greater in sealed transducer form. Power may be supplied as DC 8 to 36 V or AC 85 to 264 V, with a typical consumption of 1.5 W.

Allow a minimum of 10 pipe diameters upstream and 5 pipe diameters downstream of the transducer position. If the meter is being fitted after a pump, allow a minimum of 30 pipe diameters.
