Configurable Channel Count
Up to 100 channels per unit, expandable and tailored to match the exact size of the battery bank being monitored.
BMS-BIU-300 & BMS-DL-S-300 Series
SERTEL Battery Monitoring System gives maintenance teams ongoing data about the voltage, current, and temperature of each battery in a stationary bank. The system is intended for substations, telecommunications sites, and other facilities that need reliable backup power. It substitutes manual inspections with continuous monitoring via Ethernet. This enables teams to detect a failing cell before it impacts the operation or lifespan of the entire battery bank.

Key Features
A practical product foundation for critical infrastructure projects that need dependable hardware and engineering support.
Configurable Channel Count
Up to 100 channels per unit, expandable and tailored to match the exact size of the battery bank being monitored.
Per-Channel Voltage & Shunt Current Sensing
A calibratable shunt resistor on the negative terminal of the bank measures real-time current, referenced at ±100 A corresponding to ±75 mV, while each channel independently tracks battery voltage.
Ethernet Configuration & Communication
Configure and monitor the system from any desktop PC or laptop over a standard Ethernet connection, with no proprietary software required.
Inbuilt Database & Web Host Access
Collected readings are stored in an inbuilt database and viewable through a standard web interface at the default IP address 192.168.0.254.
Flexible Mounting
Available as a 19-inch rack mount unit in 1U, 2U, or 3U height, or as a portable trolley for field deployment and temporary installations.
Sertel supports the project lifecycle from product selection and configuration through installation and long-term service.
01
Channel-Level Sensing
Every battery in the bank connects to its own dedicated monitoring channel, and a shunt resistor fitted on the negative terminal of the bank measures real-time current.
02
Isolated Signal Conditioning
Channel voltage and current signals pass through an ADC with DC-DC isolation, so a fault or noise on one channel cannot affect the reading on any other.
03
Temperature Tracking
A dedicated temperature measurement point tracks battery bank temperature alongside the per-channel voltage and current data, giving a complete picture of battery condition.
04
Data Distribution
Processed data feeds four functions at once: the application interface, the onboard storage database, Ethernet communication to the host network, and the system's own power supply.
See the condition of every channel without leaving your desk.
The Battery Monitoring System publishes two views over its web interface. The Live Data view lists current, temperature, and individual cell voltage readings against a timestamp for every logging cycle, so a maintenance engineer can review battery function history without visiting the site. The Alarm Announce View groups every monitored channel into blocks of ten and colour-codes each reading, green for channels within the expected band and red for channels that need attention, making it possible to scan the status of up to 100 batteries at a glance.
What changes when a battery bank moves from scheduled inspection to continuous monitoring.
| Manual Inspection Rounds | Sertel Battery Monitoring System |
|---|---|
| Readings taken periodically, with gaps between visits | Continuous, channel-level readings around the clock |
| One technician records one bank at a time | Up to 100 channels tracked simultaneously from one enclosure |
| Data recorded on paper or spreadsheet, hard to trend | Data stored in an inbuilt database, viewable over the web |
| A failing cell can go unnoticed between rounds | Colour-coded alarm view flags out-of-band channels immediately |
| A site visit is required to check status | Status is checked remotely over Ethernet from a desktop PC or laptop |
Applications
Sertel battery monitoring systems support stationary backup battery banks in substations, telecom sites and critical facilities where early cell failure detection protects uptime.
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Application | Stationary battery bank monitoring |
| Use case | Backup power visibility for substations, utilities and industrial plants |
| Support | Configuration, commissioning and engineering support from Sertel |
Built for rack rooms and field deployments alike.
The Sertel BMS rack panel is installed using mounting points at all four corners of the enclosure. For wall-mount or pole-fixing installations, an M5 coach screw is fitted at each of the four corner mounting points on the rear panel. Where a permanent rack installation is not practical, the same monitoring electronics are available on a portable trolley, allowing the system to be wheeled between battery rooms for temporary or rotating inspection duty.
